In April 2006, Ben (Gatcha) Yahola of the Muskogi Creek Nation stopped over in Marion for several days. The Sacred Sites Run was organized to bring soil samples from dozens of sites in the Southeastern states to be part of a new Native American Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Ben made an evening presentation at the Mantle Rock Ccenter, speaking on the importance of identifying and preserving ancient Native American sites.

Along with the samples he and other brought from as far as Florida, whe was presented with soil from sacred sites in Ireland, which were presented to Momfeather Erickson who had jsut completed a speaking tour in that country. The Irish soil was distinguished by green rather than red cloth pouches.
